Welcome to the first New Moon of 2021. This is a moon of intensity. A moon of seeming chaos perhaps. And a profound opportunity for empowerment. Let’s break it down.
This New Moon is happening at 23º Capricorn, just a degree away from Pluto, and in an exact square to Eris.
Pluto is the planet of death and rebirth; the shadows, the hidden, the exiled in us and among us; and an initiator of intense transformation. Pluto is about us claiming our true sovereign power, as well as looking at how it’s been coopted and stolen from us.
It also wants to reveal how we have feared, denied, leaked, or dimmed our own power and true sovereignty. Pluto is also about our willingness to feel the deepest feelings and die A L L T H E W A Y to what is no longer serving us or true in our lives. Pluto kills what is antithetical to life; to aliveness. Pluto is fierce medicine.
We are not new to these energies. They’ve been at play all 2020: this Pluto-Capricorn energy of dismantling old systems and structures that no longer serve. In some ways this New Moon in Capricorn is a moment for us to pause and reflect on what these energies have already brought into our lives.
To be with and reflect on what this last year has brought in our lives and in the collective. To grieve, like really effing grieve, what has died. To feel our exquisite broken hearts and feel deep enough until we reach the place that could never be broken.
To trust that Spring always comes after Winter.
This New Moon is exactly square to Eris, the planetary body out even further into the dark reaches of our solar system than Pluto. Eris is the goddess of chaos and discord. She gives no f*cks.
Eris is also about fierce regeneration after what must fall has died away. She is the struggle the butterfly must experience as it emerges from the cocoon in order to have the wing strength to truly fly.
Amidst all the depth and chaos, something is being erected. The foundations of something new are being amassed. Ground to this sweet sweet earth, connect with your Source and FEEL that. Something is being potentiated.
Where ever and however this moon finds you, be exactly there. Right there. If it’s standing in the middle of the water as the levee breaks. If it’s knees to the earth in prayer. If it’s burning with holy hell fire. If it’s feeling the eruption of inner strength, power and life force surging like never before.
Feel it.
Let it restructure and rearrange you (becoming “new” in Capricorn). Let it renew you. Let it sober you. Let it grow you up. Let it offer its fierce loving wisdom. Let it kill what is trying to die. All. The. Way. Finally. Just. Surrender. It.
Where ever you are, you are a courageous badass. I don’t need to know you to know that. You are alive. Keep going.
