New Moon in Libra

I was born under a Libra New Moon. And I’ve been feeling this one in my bones for days now. She is working me, teaching me, guiding me in a potent way.

Looking at the chart for today, I could talk about the New Moon’s opposition to Mars and Eris. I could talk about its square to Saturn and Pluto. The intensity these energetics can bring.

I could also speak of Venus’s opposition to Neptune, and how that feels to me like “dreaming in the sacred” and the “restoration of sacred service.”

I could speak about Uranus opposite Mercury wanting to free our minds.

I could talk about how this is the closest New Moon of the year, effecting the tides and our emotional bodies in a powerful way. How important this time is to bring consciousness and attention to our intentions for greater harmony in our lives and relationships.

But I want to talk about dolphins and share the iceberg-tip of a massive process I’m being guided through right now.  And maybe, weave all the rest in.

New Moon dolphins

I went to Florida for my birthday last week. On this beach trip (and the trip prior) my one true wish was to see dolphins.

With a deep affinity for these beings, I long for a direct personal encounter.  Two trips, one remote kayaking adventure, and many moments gazing out into the sea: no dolphins

On the eve of my birthday, I was considering a trip to a place where all my dolphin-loving dreams could come true—a place where I could not only see the dolphins, but touch, feed and play with them.  Swoon

The catch—these animals are held in captivity, and from the reviews, not in a great way.

As much as I longed for the dolphin encounter, I could not, in personal integrity, take pleasure in what might contribute to the harm, mistreatment, or captivity of another sovereign being.

My guides have been using this moment as a teaching tool for days since.

The call is clear as a bell: it is time to eradicate from my personal life all instances of petting a dolphin at the expense of her freedom.

This is our New Moon, with Sun and Moon in relational Libra, opposite “I do what I want when and how I want” Mars in Aries.

In other words, it’s time to take a deeply personal inventory of where I am somehow willingly, unknowingly, or out of convenience benefitting from structures that “cause harm or perpetuate the negation of another’s sovereignty,” as my guides say.

Perhaps this is an invitation we’ve all gotten this year.

“We wish to support the restoration of your collective action for the good of the One Body of human consciousness,” the Atlanteans share, showing me how operating outside of this energy creates imbalance and disharmony on Earth (and led to their own demise long ago).

Libra (back to the new moon) is about restoring the “Round Table” – a non-hierarchical, collaborative space where all voices are welcomed, honored, valued, and respected by all.

Where all action is first considered by a council of wisdom keepers who have the collective’s best interest at the beating core of its sacred heart.

Libra is also about the dance between consensus reality and personal lived truth.

If we look out into the consensus reality right now, we will likely see the distorted truth that things are getting worse, that we are the furthest we’ve ever been from this ahimsa-rooted collective action for the good of all.

But that is just one half of what is placed on the Libran scales.

My loves, we have our personal lived experiences to counter this moment of collective dis-ease.

We have our sovereign choices of how we will think, feel, live, and express ourselves. Where we place power and attention. What we choose to create inside the holy temple of our lives.

At our essence we are creators. We are at a pivotal moment where we can distract ourselves with consensus reality or we can anchor deeply into our personal lived experiences.

Where we create from a place of freedom and sovereignty, no longer abdicating our selfhood at the co-dependent altar of unhealthy hierarchical relationships (shadow Libra).

We are creators

I am not advocating a kind of bypassing here. This is a matter of directing attention.

We can look out there at “them” and how/if/when “they” are going to fix it. Or we can shift that attention inside.

This is a time to purge what’s ready to be released. It’s an inside job. To do the inner shadow exploration and uproot the weeds that have been growing in the garden. To purge the toxins and distortions from your own field.

Because what you do, think, feel, attend to, nurture, and love matters. For you, for all of us.

Libra is about:

·      Peacemaking

·      restoring harmony

·      collaborative + conscious co-creation

·      being vulnerable

·      stepping into the messy middle of relational dynamics

·      taking action from a deeply inter-dependent space where care for Other is in sacred balance with care for Self.

In each other we find ourselves.

Neptune and Venus are holding it down, helping us to dream in the new creations, the new life that we are birthing from the ashes of what is ready to burn.  Uranus and Mercury want to liberate our minds, our perception and communication.

I’ll leave you with another nugget from my guides:

“The key is to stay out of forced fear. To over-identify with the fear is to shackle your own wrists and ankles to the stone walls of the past. The key is to stay focused on building the home you wish to live in. And to build these new structures together with others. And when the fear arises, find ways to digest and discharge, with the support of the Earth.”
