What a time to be alive.

Today’s full moon, the 2nd of the month, is in Taurus—the wisdom-keeper of embodiment, savoring the senses, receiving, feeling with the Earth. This moon joins Uranus– keeper of awakening, liberation, rebellion, revelation, lightning-flashes of insight, creativity, originality.

In Shamanic Astrology the moon represents our lineage + our past. That this full moon comes on the eve of Day of the Dead, we're invited to deeply honor + witness the blessings + challenges of our ancestors + our own past.

To feel their (our) stories in our bones, dance with them, honor them, and return what doesn’t belong to us.

Uranus shows us a higher perspective + free us from patterns + stories that have profoundly shaped our journeys + are ready now to be healed and released.

What separates us from the dead?

These bodies. With so much tension + challenge this year, some of us may feel a deep ambivalence to being here. We are in our greatest power when we fully inhabit our bodies. We are actually safest when we are all the way IN our bodies. Absolutely nothing on this Earth can harm our true essence.

Dance under this full moon.

Breathe in the crisp air.

Taste the pumpkin + apple, savoring the generosity of Earth.

Listen to the winds.

Gaze into the flames and let them burn away what is dying in a blaze of red, orange, and yellow glory.

Feel the full range of your human emotions, inside the body. It won't kill you; rather, it will liberate you.

This moon is for the soft animal inside you:

You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

–Mary Oliver, Wild Geese

Sending my deepest blessings to you + yours, may you be well, resource deeply into the body of this Earth, sit close to the fires of your own passion, inhabit your pleasure, have the courage to feel + move with it all.
