New Moon in Scorpio | November 2020
New Moon at 23 Scorpio
15 November 2020
12:06am EST
Creation and Destruction. Death and Rebirth. Chaos and Cosmos.
The New Moon is a time to “become new” with the archetypal energies of the given month.
This new moon gives us a chance to renew our relationship to the Scorpio archetype.
Coincidentally this week in Soul Seasons (my 12-week online astro-immersion) we are focusing on Pluto, so it’s giving me another opportunity to dive deep into the energies of Pluto/Scorpio.
(Recurring thought this week: “for sure someday I will open a school called Scorpio School” ;)
Scorpio energetics:
· elemental power, depth and intensity
· Compels, allures, intensified and empowers what it touches
· Eliminative, purgative/eruptive, transformative
· Connected with the processes of birth, sex and death
· Sexuality and life force energy
· Facing our deepest fears
· Taboo and shadow
· Dark night of the soul
· “Desire is the engine of creation”
· Healthy expressions of will and desire without attachment to outcome
· Personal empowerment
· The archetype of the shaman, tantrika and medicine person
This New Moon is sextile (a harmonious aspect) the trifecta of Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn in Capricorn (the energetic soundtrack to 2020). Paradigm shift.
Venus is square the Capricorn party, asking us to tap into what we truly long for, and align with what really matters to us. What really even matters to the deepest parts of you? What in your relational life must die for you to live your truest essence? What is your relationship to intimacy and sexuality? What role do you desire them to play in your life?
This moment may feel liminal, as if we’re suspended between what is and what is becoming.
This is also a time of heightened emotions, a time for grieving, and a time of intensity carving a path for transformation.
Diamond-making pressures.
We are in a moment of chaos, where seeming disorder and confusion occupy our awareness.
“Chaos is what we've lost touch with. This is why it is given a bad name. It is feared by the dominant archetype of our world, which is Ego, which clenches because its existence is defined in terms of control.”
― Terence McKenna
“Out of chaos comes the [new] world” ― Ancient Greek saying
Support for this moment: Move your body, practice breathwork, commune with nature, grieve, make art, rest, do something that makes you feel alive.
The Sabian symbol for this New Moon
The Sabian symbol for 23 degrees Scorpio is: “Crowds coming down the mountain to listen to the one inspired person.”
The counseling: bring the inspired messages coming from “on high” into your everyday life and integrate them into your lived reality.
